Maggie's First Date

Maggie turns 16 on Monday. She went on her first date today. Her friend, Dante, has asked her out a few times. She was waiting until she was 16 to date (family rule).

Today they went to the movie, Warm Bodies. Anthony & I went with them, at her request. She was really glad we were there as there was no one else in the theater.

The movie was better than I expected it to be. We actually had a good time. It was nice to be able to talk during the movie without bothering anyone else.

Monica moved out

Monica surprised us by moving to Denver, CO. She only gave us a few days notice. When she came back from Utah I knew she wouldn't be home long. I was hoping she would've been more honest with us & have given us more notice.

She originally said she was moving in with a girl she met in Utah. I REALLY HATE being lied to. She was really moving in with her boyfriend, Devin.

They had been dating for quite some time. I really wish she had felt like she could be honest with me.

She moved out 2 weeks ago & hasn't contacted me except to let me know she had been picked up at the airport & to give me an address to send her mail to. She did post a picture on facebook.

I'm not sure why she's ignoring me, but I hope she contacts me soon. I would really like to get to know her boyfriend seeing as he's part of the family now.

New Lanyard

I bought a new one. Yay! Let's see how long this one lasts. It seems a bit sturdier than the last one.

Monday, they turned 18!

Anthony and Joshua 18th birthday

Where did the time go?

Catching up

I went to my blog this morning and realized I had a bunch of posts that I had started on my phone but never actually posted. I have gone ahead and posted them this morning.

Now to catch you up.  Paul has moved.  He took a job in Lincoln, Nebraska.  He will be gone for 18 months.  We moved bedrooms around the day he left so I wouldn't have to sleep in our room alone.  I'm not sure how I feel about him being gone.  I think this break will be good for us and our relationship.  The kids don't seem to want to talk with him. Maggie keeps saying that she doesn't have much to say to him.  I don't get it.  He comes home for the weekend in a few weeks.  The kids & I are planning on spending part of the summer with him.

They boys are applying to BYU/Idaho.  They took the SAT this past weekend and said it was pretty easy.  They still have to visit with the Bishop (as they have forgotten or missed 2 appointments).

They boys turned 18 this week.  I cannot believe they are so old.  I'll post pictures separately.

Monica told me yesterday that she is moving to Denver next week.

Lots going on.
